What to expect in this private 2 Day Meteora Photo Tour from Athens by train
The first day will be spent in the captivating area of Meteora. The focal point will be visiting the best spots to photograph significant monasteries from outside and visiting one of the 6 Monasteries of Meteora from inside. You will explore the landscape and learn about the history and architecture of this majestic place, all while capturing it through your lens. You will also visit sites in Meteora and surrounding areas: small waterfalls, rivers,(depend on the season) old bridges, caves, rocks at more distant points with spectacular views, and peaks from where you can see and photograph the large complexities of the Meteora Rocks. The day will be properly wrapped up with an epic sunset shoot up on the Meteora rocks. Overnight stay in Kalampaka.
On the second day, you wake up early and start before dawn. After 3 or 4 hours of exploration and photography, we will drop you off at your hotel for your breakfast. We will take a rest for 3 hours and continue to explore the rest of the area of Meteora and photograph with different light. At about 15:30 we will go for lunch in a traditional Greek restaurant and you will be at the train station in Meteora at 16:45.

Our tours are suitable all levels, from amateur to professional photographers. The tour is led by Christos or Konstantina, professional photographers and Meteora locals. There will be discussions and tips on composition, different angles, technical aspects and everyday usage of your camera and some historical facts about the area of Meteora.
The tour will be conducted by vehicle combined with easy paced walking and small to medium elevation changes along the way. There will be some walking on uneven routes so make sure you wear appropriate shoes.
It is recommended that you bring a tripod, or ask us to bring one for you!
Don’t worry. We are able to teach you tips and tricks on your compact camera, smart phone, ipad or tablet too.
It is recommended to use wide-angle and telephoto lenses when shooting the Meteora area. You can use polarizer or ND filters to enhance images of rivers and waterfalls (depending on the season). These are recommended for Plastiras Lake and Zagori mountain tours.
Yes, you can! We are able to do the tour using a smartphone, iPhone - iPad, or tablet too.
In case of heavy rain, we can reschedule for the next day or we can cancel the tour and give you a refund. If the rain starts and stops or it is just a drizzle we will use umbrellas or take a coffee break and continue when the rain subsides. Keep in mind that sometimes in the art of photography unstable weather can give us opportunities for the best photos.
